Children’s Extensive Support (CES Waiver) is a deeming waiver (only the child’s income is considered in determining eligibility) intended to provide needed services and supports to eligible children under the age of eighteen years in order for the children to remain in or return to the family home. Waiver services are targeted to children having extensive support needs, which require constant line-of-sight supervision due to significantly challenging behaviors and/or co-existing medical conditions. Available services include personal assistance, household modification, specialized medical equipment and supplies, professional services and community connection services.

The Home and Community Based Children's Waiver (HCBS Waiver) is a waiver program for children with chronic health care needs who are at risk of institutionalization in a hospital or nursing facility and who would not otherwise be eligible for Medicaid due to parental income and/or resources. The services provided under this program serve as alternatives to Medicaid hospital or nursing facility services for children, birth through seventeen (17) years of age, and who meet the established minimum criteria for hospital or nursing facility level of care as determined by the Utilization Review Contractor. The services provided through this Children's HCBS Waiver Program shall include all state plan Medicaid benefits, case management services, and In-Home Support Services when deemed to be appropriate and adequate by the child's physician, shall be provided in the home or community.
